With the upcoming release of CMS Transport System’s powerful new WMS (Warehouse Management System) module, Freight2020 users can expect an easier and more systematic way to control inventory levels and maximise the use of storage facilities. Final testing and refinement of this new software solution is nearing completion and the target date for its release will be announced accordingly.
The Freight2020 WMS is designed to help warehouse managers and staff guide inventory through receiving, order processing, picking, packing and shipping. “The system provides users the ability to control multiple warehouses, and the automatic allocation of stock to bins and locations within a warehouse. Despatch confirmation, pallet control, pre-receival advice, web integration and RF terminal support are all part of the WMS solution architecture,” CMS general manager Grant Walmsley explained.
The WMS solution aims to minimise paperwork and manual intervention for transport businesses, offering increased accuracy and efficiency by integrating seamlessly with other parts of the Freight2020 solution including operations and financials.
“CMS Freight2020 customers can tighten their customer relationships further with state-of-the-art EDI capabilities through our Business Collaboration Solution, allowing direct integration with their key trading partners, creating an unprecedented competitive and cost advantage over opposition carriers,” Grant noted.
He said that the CMS development team has been working determinedly to get this new module out to enable Freight2020 users to keep pace with market demands and sustain their business growth.
The WMS module is shipped with a full set of standard reports to help clients manage their operational and stock management requirements. All reports can be emailed from within the application in a number of different formats such as Adobe PDF, MS Excel, ASCII, etc.
Like all other modules available within Freight2020, the new WMS module can be provided in the cloud (SaaS) or on-premise.
